Last Autumn, South Coast Events gathered a troop of wedding suppliers and we got together at Moors Valley Country Park for a styled shoot. The mornings were still dark so we weren’t all bright eyed and bushy tailed like we are these days (right!?) but after some caffeine, we got cracking on a super duper styled shoot in the forest on the Dorset and Hampshire border.
The theme of the styled shoot was nature and forest. In Dorset and Hampshire we are lucky to be surrounded by forests, filled with muted natural tones, which provide ever changing scenery throughout the year.
Fiona, of Fiona Lucy Clark Hair and Make Up worked her magic on Charlotte, our model. It was a pretty blustery and drizzly day, so Fiona had her work cut out for her, keeping the hair tamed and in place, but the photographs speak for themselves!

Lauren, of Concept Flowers handmade a skirt using, what can only be described as a tree! The hours of work that went into creating it must have been endless, but the finished result was well worth it and utterly incredible! Lauren also created some additional natural details for the shoulder and hair, as well as a natural bouquet; gathered from the forest floor!

Keith, of Bridle Photography, captured some beautiful images, showcasing the natural surroundings of the forest with the beautiful styled look of Charlotte’s hair, make up and floristry. It’s almost as if she’s coming up out of the forest floor. It was a great day for experimenting and a truly collaborative effort.

We are so incredibly lucky in Dorset and Hampshire to have an abundance of venues for wedding and events, which makes our job in the wedding industry so much easier!
This was a really fun styled shoot and that is completely down to the wedding suppliers involved. If you’re thinking of collaborating with other suppliers on your own styled shoot, the benefits are;
- Working with suppliers you may not have worked with before, so good networking
- Bringing your skills together result in fabulous images, which everyone can use for marketing
- You get to try out new ideas and can be more ‘out there’ than you would be for a typical wedding
- Great PR. Cross promotion with the other suppliers will lead people to your website, drawing in potential clients
