There are so many reasons to have a staff party, whenever you choose to have it.
Thank you! Your staff work hard all year and hosting a party is a great way of rewarding them for their hard work. It’s time to step away from the computers and have some fun!
Motivation. Everyone needs something to keep them going and to look forward to, especially on those dark dreary days!
Networking. Most days, the staff are so focused on their jobs that they don’t get time to mingle with others in a social environment. This is a great opportunity for the big boss, managers and staff to get to know each other better.
Team spirit. There’s nothing that brings people closer together better than a party. You could even have some ice breaker or team games for different departments to compete in – it doesn’t all have to be about the booze!
FUN! There are so many great Dorset venues to cater for all budgets and whatever you decide to do, who doesn’t love to have a fun day or night out!
As the company paying for the party, costs can be a major worry. Things to think about when weighing up whether to have a staff event are;
The Budget – Set a budget and stick to it (or let your event manager do it for you).
The Bar – This doesn’t have to be free. It’s nice to have a welcome drink but it’s not essential to fund the staff’s drinks all night.
Transport – While it’s nice to pay for people’s taxis home, there are ways to save. Putting on a bus/coach that drops lots of people off that live in the same area is one example.
The Food – A three course sit down meal is lovely, but not a necessity. Sharing platters are a great way to save money and get people interacting.
So, let someone else take the stress off of your plate and let your hair down, even if it is just for one night!
