Back in May, we were contacted by Karolina as she wanted to hold a birthday party for her husband’s 40th but wanted to keep it a surprise. Due to the nature of his work, Karolina never knew when he was going to be home, so enlisted our help to plan the party.
The brief was a marquee in the family’s garden in Queens Park, Bournemouth with a black & gold theme for 40 people.
Lauren, of Concept Flowers, designed and created some beautiful floral displays for the entrance to the house, the dining table, worktops, lead up to the marquee and the tables within the marquee. She used gold, greens and ivory, to soften the black and gold decorations and place settings.
Emma, of Fancie Buns, created the birthday cake and a beautiful gold & black dessert table, which almost looked too good to eat! The table included the 40th birthday cake, cake pops, macarons and Ferraro Rocher.

Tammy, from Fundoo, provided black & gold pinwheels with a ‘Happy Birthday’ sign, as well as beautiful chair drapes and gold clasps.
The White Chair Company provided the black chairs with black seat pads. They have lots of colours available to match your event theme and colour scheme, as well as other hire products.
Gemma, of Jellicoe Creative created the invitations and the name cards. For any type of stationery, this is the lady to talk to!
Classic Crockery provided the gold plates and cutlery, along with tea cups & saucers and drink dispensers. This London based hire company have an extensive range of products.
Perfectly Pretty provided the gold table runners.
Balloon a Room provided clear confetti balloons for the entrance way, with column balloons and an archway. This is our go to company for balloons!
A fridge was hired from A&D Mobile Bars who also provide mobile bar services.
Karolina was thrilled with the event and how beautiful everything was. Her husband was completely shocked and hadn’t suspected a thing!
